However, there are pieces of clothing which we ourselves cannot stand to look at. But the beauty of DIY can turn your trash clothes into fabulous stuff. You just need some scissors, glue, glitter, needle and a thread.

The Best DIY Recyclable Fashion Tips

Here is a look at some friendly DIYs which can come in handy.

  • Knit a scarf from a sweater.

Winter is the best time to keep warm. But we all have that one yarn sweater which we cannot stand. Hey, instead of turning into a rag how about you knit it into a sweater.


  • Old sweater
  • Scissors.

Steps to follow.

  • Make a long horizontal cut across the sweater.
  • Stretch your sweater at the end of where you have cut it. This will ensure it does not get any fraying.
  • Slip your sweater over your neck and get cosy.

Tip: You do not need to throw the sleeves away especially if they are long. You can simply turn them into legwarmers.

  • Sparkly Boots.

There are many ways to turn your old pair of boots into a fun way. All you will need is just glue and glitter.

Steps to follow.

  • Get yourself some glue and glitter. Choose glitter of different sizes.
  • Mix the glitter with the glue.
  • Glue the glitter on your boot.
  • Neaten your work by scraping off all the glitter which is in the wrong places.
  • Lace Briefcase.

Women like to be able to distinguish their stuff from the men. A briefcase has a more masculine touch. But here is a quick DIY to turn your briefcase into something chic.


  • Old briefcase.
  • Lace.
  • Glue

Steps to follow.

  • Cut the lace into strips of your desired size.
  • Glue the strips on your briefcase. You can do it in your preferred style.
  • Wait for it to dry. Try your new upgraded briefcase.
  • Pocahontas costume.


  •  Two Coloured bedsheets orT-shirt
  • Tape measure.
  • Sewing machine.
  • Pins.
  • Scissors.
  • Zipper.
  • Chalk
  • Belt.
  • Steps to follow.
  • Measure the desired dress or T-shirt on one of the bedsheets.
  • Cut the trace out into an off shoulder
  • Start sewing from the bottom up.
  • Add a zipper by sewing it inside out.
  • Add a button or a belt if you wish to.
  • Mens’ skirt shirt.

A shit dress is already a DIY in itself. How about you try and cut out the top from the bottom to create a skirt. All you will need is to add an elastic band at the bottom.
