Wonderful Hand cut paper art by Maude White is really amazing. She is really authentic toward her work as she carves paper and turn them into any form. You’ll astonish to know that she cuts paper with craft knife and transform in animal, human or bird etc. He says, “With paper cutting there are so many opportunities to create negative space that tells its own story. Letting the observer become present in the piece allows him or her to look through it.” Such an amazing paper work she does. “It is what we see, and how our brains interpret what we see that shapes our perceptions and actions. I began cutting paper with that understanding. I want my art to communicate to the observer what my words cannot do effectively”. She says further.
Maude White, a paper cutting artist lives in Hudson Valley. Hand cut paper art really nice work to see as every cut is truly precise and evocative. She completes her work both on the Macro and the Micro level. She herself thinks that she is a craft worker who has profound esteem to make over the paper. She displayed her work in Hudson Valley and Western New York that have been published and taught as well. She is looking forward to carry on and enlarge her work further. She states, “When I cut paper, I feel as if I am peeling back the outer, superficial layer of our vision to reveal the secret space beneath. With paper cutting there are so many opportunities to create negative space that tells its own story. Letting the observer become present in the piece allows him or her to look through it. I like the idea of the stark contrast between the black and white paper, and the cut nature of the work makes my art more three-dimensional than paint on canvas”.
White says that she isn’t creating for Art’s sake. In fact, she’s cutting for sake of paper. She does so to make stories very observable as every piece of paper tries to talk to us. Her views, notion, thinking and work is greatly valued.
