You must have heard the term “Content Curation” and you must be thinking that what in the world Content Curation is all about? What If I tell you that you have been doing content Curation since a long time but you don’t know you have been doing it? You will definitely become even more confused that how can a person do something and not know about at the same time? Well, content Curation is no rocket science, it is actually a complete process in which you find information and quality content and share it in a way to connect with as many people as possible. Actually, the strategic content creating and sharing is called “Content Curation”.
In this post, I’m going to share 5 tips with you that you should keep in your mind to become a better content curator.
1. Be creative and productive – Play your role
In order to become a better content curator, you need to become a part of the content creating ecosystem. There are a lot of people on the internet that strive hard to create unique, original and information content. You should also try to become a part of that league and not just keep sharing the content creating by someone else. You need to come up with your own ideas and create new content based on them. Not only that you should be creating your own content but you should invite others to participate in the process as well.
2. Make a Schedule
If you want to gain more audience over the passage of time then you need to have schedule. Do you watch 9 PM news daily? Have you ever noticed the news bulletin starting even a single second late? I’m sure you haven’t noticed anything like this and that is the main reason why we all sit in front of Television to watch news at the same time because we know that if we will be late, we will miss the headlines. You need to play the same role with your audience as well. Make a time schedule and make sure that your blog post, podcast or vlog is up at the same time each day/ week.
3. Use Multiple Platforms
You cannot find all the potential customers on a single platform, can you? For this purpose, you will be required to use multiple data sharing platforms. To share an image, you can use different social media networks like Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and Pinterest. Similarly if you are sharing an informative vide, make sure to use as many video streaming platforms as possible like YouTube, Vimeo, Daily Motion etc.
4. Engage With Your Audience
You don’t just need to share your content with your audience but you also need to listen to what they have to say. Make sure that you take out some time to listen to queries and answer them. If you will never respond to questions and suggestions of your audience, they will lose interest in what you do and so you will lose a loyal follower.
5. Don’t Steal, Share It
This is another important thing to keep in mind. If you find something really interested on the internet and you want to share it with your audience then don’t forget to give proper credit. If you will share the stuff as if it belongs to you, your audience will get to know about it and hence, they will lose their faith in you.
